Good questions, honest answers
What does a website cost?
It depends on how many pages you need and how much writing is involved, so we quote it once we understand the business. You get a fixed price and a date in writing before any work starts, and half is due at the start with the rest when it goes live.
Why not $199, like the cheap places?
Because at $199 nobody writes your words, nobody looks at your photos, and nobody picks up when you ring. Those places run on volume with big teams elsewhere. If price is genuinely the only thing that matters, they’re a real option — we’d rather say that than pretend otherwise.
Do I own the website when it’s done?
Completely — the domain, the files, and the accounts, all in your name from day one. If you ever want to move it or hand it to somebody else, you can, and we’ll help you do it.
Can you promise I’ll come up first on Google?
No, and anybody who promises that is either fibbing or about to get your site in trouble. What we do is build the foundations properly and set up your Google Business Profile, which is what actually moves the needle for a local business.
I’m not a tech person. Is that a problem?
Not in the slightest — most of our clients aren’t. You’ll never be handed jargon, and if we can’t explain something simply, that’s our failing and not yours.
What if I already have a website?
Send us the link. Sometimes the honest answer is that yours needs a tidy-up rather than a rebuild, and we’ll say so even though it means less work for us.
How long does it really take?
A simple site can be live within a few working days, and the clock starts the day your photos and words reach us. Send everything on Monday and it moves quickly. Send it in dribs and drabs over three weeks and that’s what decides the date, not us.
Are there any hidden costs?
A domain is around $15 a year and hosting a site this size is usually free. Both stay in your name. Support is included for a stretch after launch, then it’s a flat yearly rate agreed up front — no hourly surprises and no charge per change.
What do you need from me?
Photos, your hours, your prices or menu, and a rough idea of what you’d like someone to do when they land on the page. If writing isn’t your thing, we can do that from a phone call.
Can you update it for me later?
Yes. Support is included for the first stretch, then it’s a flat yearly rate. No hourly surprises and no charge per change.
